What is in the Mountain?

Inspired by Shan Hai Jing, the ancient Chinese classic of myth and geography, I created this illustration series to reimagine the fantastical creatures described in the text. Through an adventurous journey shared by a human child and two characters transformed from mythical animals, the project brings these beings into a contemporary visual language, bridging imagination, time, and everyday life while connecting ancient mythology with modern experience.
